Our client, a multinational company operating in the shipping and cruising industry, is looking to recruit a Business Analyst to join their team in Nicosia

Position’s Duties and Responsibilities

• Using specialist tools to extract and gather data from primary and secondary sources, preferably in an automated manner
• Using specialist tools to validate, scrutinize and analyze data
• Performing analysis to assess quality and meaning of data
• Developing and maintaining databases, data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format
• Removing corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems
• Responding to data-related queries and keeping track of these
• Filter data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problems
• Using statistical, machine learning and artificial intelligence tools to identify, analyze and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction
• Assigning numerical value to essential business functions so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time
• Working with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies
• Preparing analysis reports for the stakeholders to understand the data analysis steps, enabling them to make important decisions based on various facts and trends
• Helping and supporting stakeholders to interpret the data and the reports
• Setting up processes and systems to make working with data more efficient
• Researching new ways, technologies and innovations to make use of data
• Producing reports and charts communicating trends within data to non-specialists
• Presenting information generated from data to clients and managers
• Analyzing local, national and global trends that impact both the organization and the industry
• Preparing reports for the management stating trends, patterns and predictions using relevant data

Position’s Requirements 

• Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analysis or Business Administration or similar
• 0-2 years of work experience: Travel, Shipping industry or in similar role in other industries
• Strong Analytical mindset: You enjoy working with data and want to work with math and statistical analysis, and are able to quickly extract implications from data and deliver effective solutions
• Fluency in English
• Excellent knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Database software (BI skills would be diserable)
• Working knowledge of SQL and/or Python, R or similar programming will be considered as an advantage.
• Strong understanding of (and experience working with) database architecture and the management/ synthesis of data distributed across multiple systems
