Investment Operations Officer, Nicosia (Hybrid) – IOO/11/23

Our client is a member of a multi-jurisdictional group. This role will provide the necessary support for investment operations. This role will also provide up to date information and brief on international economic and political situation.

Key responsibilities

  • Support execution of investment portfolio strategies, including trading and preparing pre-trade and post-trade documents
  • Review subscription documents and partnership agreements for private equity transactions and raise/summarise key clauses ahead of finalising
  • Engage with brokers, private equity sponsors, investment advisors and legal service providers in order to coordinate the development and execution of investment transactions
  • Coordinate all deal closings following BoD resolutions between investment advisors, execution team and controllership in order to ensure documentation is complete and accurate
  • Manage compliance and AML functions
  • Maintain current knowledge of rules and regulations that may impact the operation of the entity
  • Process the transactions in securities, money markets, FX, interest rates, private assets amongst others and capture initial recording into the investment management system or company’s ERP
  • Perform settlement functions in an accurate and timely manner
  • Resolve settlement issues and escalate as needed; recommend solutions to resolve complex issues
  • Handle enquiries received from third parties in a timely and professional manner, in relation to payments
  • Participate in the implementation of assigned projects, including setting up a platform for trading/managing the investment portfolios (or any system enhancement and testing project)
  • Identify policy gaps and formulate new policies to enhance the streamlining of trade flow processes
  • Assist in researching and authoring written or verbal commentary on economic financial markets and trends affecting management of investment portfolios
  • Support management of the entity’s investment portfolio by analysing funding sources (e.g. short term money markets, repurchase agreements, etc.)
  • Understand and adhere to company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
  • Identify risk related issues needing escalation to management
  • Support other team functions for continuity purposes

Education, experience and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (preferred) Accounting, Finance, Economics or in any other related field
  • Qualification in ACCA / ACA / CFA (or partially qualified)
  • 2+ years of experience in the financial sector, including 1+ years in trading, capital markets or a similar role in an Investment Entity or family office; private equity experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of a variety of financial instruments and investment structures
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in verbal and written English
  • Cross-functional collaboration skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
