Our client, a well established company in the hospitality industry, is searching for a Management Accountant to be based in Nicosia.

The purpose of the Management Accountant is to collect, compile and analyse all monthly, quarterly and annual results of the company and to prepare management reports so as to keep abreast with the company’s financial results on a regular basis to the various department heads. The role also ensures any deviations are reported and acted upon in a timely manner and the achievement of KPI’s and the financial objectives of the organisation.

Position’s Duties and Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting and financial results production. Monthly, quarterly and annual results of company and preparation of a Reporting Pack include:  P&L (by vessel, by department, by cruise), Balance Sheet, Cash Flow.
• Review and analyse the monthly results,  comparison to prior years and budgets, explanations and investigation of variance and suggestion of corrective actions.
• Take overall responsibility of the reporting and analysis of the revenue cycle of the group by taking a hands-on approach on data analysis with a view of improving controls and results.
• Be able to identify and handle Tax and VAT issues arising in the industry as well as issues arising within a multi company organisation of multiple jurisdictions.
• Mentor accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities, setting deadlines and answering questions.
• Preserve accounting controls and financial security by following internal controls and implementing policies and procedures.
• Liaise between departments, including treasury, payables, purchasing, legal, sales, insurance and MIS/IT in order to streamline operations.
• Produce ad hoc reports and lead projects periodically requested by senior management team.

Position’s Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or any other related field.
• Newly qualified ACA/ACCA
• Tax and VAT knowledge
• Good knowledge of Cyprus and/or international taxation and VAT
• MS Office skills, particularly proficiency in MS Excel
• Working knowledge of accounting and/or consolidation software and/or BI software
• Strong team leadership, organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Analytical thinking and problem solving
• Excellent command of the English language
